Five reasons why you shouldn't put your templates in Word

Everybody is used to working with Microsoft Word, so it would come in handy that xential is part of Word. We understand that argument, of course. Nevertheless, we have a number of very good reasons why we have deliberately chosen to let xential be independent of a text editor such as Microsoft Word.

Independent of your text editor

Have you ever had to modify your templates after introducing a new version of a text editor in your organization? With xential, this work is a thing of the past. Because with our web-based software, your templates work completely independent of your text editor. Updates of your text editor, can be implemented without having to change your templates. Even changing to another text editor is easy to realize.

Separate content from corporate identity

With xential you make a separation between the content, of a template and its layout, in other words: the corporate identity, which is used. This has the great advantage that the same pieces of content can be used in multiple templates, while still being stored in one place. The same goes for the layout: you can change it in one place; that change will then be implemented in all templates that use that layout.

Independence in types of output

Output can be generated in xential in combination with various text editor, such as Microsoft Word, Open Source alternatives and as PDF. But there is more possible. You can create letters directly in xential, generate bulk documents, mail, print and create spreadsheets and presentations.
