The Fachhochschule Munster (Munster University of Applied Sciences) uses Xential in combination with the document management system d3.
FH Münster has developed into a practice-oriented, international and interdisciplinary university. Today, there are more than 15,000 young people studying in 84 degree programs with an above-average proportion in Germany of master's programs (currently 39) for universities of applied sciences. Teachers and students alike contribute to the successful transfer of scientific knowledge into practice. Matthias Welp-Dasenbrock works as a team leader for process and project management at the university. He recounts: "We use xential in connection with the document management system d3 as part of the topic 'Granting of teaching assignments'."
"When a teaching assignment is granted, an assignment document is sent to the teaching assistant by e-mail. This assignment document is created by xential, whereby the system operates completely in the background and is not visible to the user: The creation is triggered by the administrator in the processing form for the teaching assignment in d3. d3 informs xential of the template to be used and the data to be used there via a web service. xential generates a Word document from this and returns it to d3. In d3, this is then automatically assigned to the file and supplemented by an additional PDF version generated by d3. d3 then sends the PDF version of the document to the lecturer."
"Similarly, xential is also used in other process steps in the context of teaching assignment, whereby the documents are not sent, but are merely deposited in inboxes in d3 and filed in the relevant dossier. In addition to dynamic contents of the generated documents, which result from the transferred data, further functionalities of xential are also used at Münster University of Applied Sciences for template creation, in order to only have to maintain one single template per use case on the one hand, but on the other hand to be able to integrate different text modules into the documents."
